Gobi Tikka Masala Gravy


Gobi Tikka Masala Gravy is a mouthwatering side dish for chappathi, naan, rotti, pulav, etc., Here is the method of preparation of gobi tikka masala gravy.







Ingredients:


Cauliflower                   - 1 big (floret carefully)
Green capsicum            - 1/2 (cut into squares)
Yellow capsicum           - 1/2 (cut into squares)
Big onion                      - 1 medium sized (cut in square)
Tomato                         - 1 seedless cut in square



For marination (gobi tikka)


Curd                            - 1 cup

Gram flour                  - 2 tablespoon

Carrom seeds 
Ajwain seeds/ 
ayamodakam             - 1 teaspoon

Oil                             - 1 tablespoon

Ginger garlic paste    - 1 tablespoon

Kashmiri chilly powder - 1 teaspoon

Turmeric powder           - 1 teaspoon

Coriander powder         - 1 teaspoon

Kasuri methi                 - 1 teaspoon (crushed)

Salt to taste



For gravy:


Cashew nuts                - 1 palm full

Big onion                    - 2 (chopped)

Tomato                       - 2 (chopped)

Ginger garlic paste    - 2 tablespoon

Chilly powder           - 1 tablespoon

Turmeric powder      - 1 teaspoon

Coriander powder     -  1 tablespoon

Cumin seeds/jeerakam -1 teaspoon

Garam masala powder - 1 teaspoon

Salt to taste



For garnish:


Fresh cream (optional)
Coriander leaves (chopped)



Preparation:


> Cut cauliflower floret and blanch it in hot salt water for 2 minutes 

> Drain water and keep it aside

> Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a pan, add carrom seeds / ajwain / ayamodakam and besan flour and roast it till aroma start coming

> Switch off the flame and keep it aside for cooling down

> For marination - in a bowl take curd, then add roasted besan flour, add kashmiri chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, crushed kasuri methi, salt, oil and mix well and put the cauliflower floret into the mixture and mix well with hand and keep the same in a fridge for 30 minutes to marinate.




> For gravy mixture - In a pan, heat 1 teaspoon oil add onion, tomato and cashew nuts and saute' well. Then add ginger garlic paste, salt to taste, and chilly powder, turmeric powder, and coriander powder and mix well. Cook till the tomatoes become soft. Then switch off the flame and allow this mix to cool down. After cooling down grind it into a smooth paste. 

> Heat oil in grill tawa or in a non stick pan and cook the marinated gobi till both the sides become brown color.




> Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and stir then add squared onion, capsicum, and tomato and saute' well for 1 minute. Then add ground paste and mix well and add gobi tikka and mix well and add garam masala powder, then add water to reach the consistency you want (do not pour excess water, check the consistency and do). Cover the lid and allow it to cook till oil starts separating.  Check the salt and consistency, switch off the flame and garnish with fresh cream and chopped coriander leaves.

> Tasty gobi tikka masala gravy is ready to serve.
