As we know, paneer is a good source of protein especially for children as it helps in many stages in their development. This paneer tikka recipe is very easy to prepare at your own kitchen. Ingredients:
Paneer / cottage cheese - 250gm to 300 gm (diced)
Capsicum /bell pepper - 1 diced
Tomato - 1 diced (without seed)
Onion - 1 diced
For marination:
Curd - 1 cup
Besan flour - 2 tablespoon
Carrom seeds/ajwain/
ayamodhakam - 1/2 teaspoon
Kasuri methi - 1/2 teaspoon (crushed) dry fenugreek leaves
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
Kashmiri chilly powder - 1 teaspoon
Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
Cumin/jeerakam powder - 1 teaspoon
Chaat masala - 1 teaspoon
Amchur /dried mango powder - 1 teaspoon
Garam masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Oil - 1 tablespoon
Oil for frying
Preparation:
Paneer tikka marination:
> In a large bowl, take all the ingredients except oil for frying (under the heading for marination) and mix well.
> Then add diced paneer, capsicum, tomato and onion and mix well with your hand
> Cover the bowl and keep in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to one hour.
Making paneer tikka:
> Heat one tablespoon oil in a pan / in a tawa. Coat the paneer and veggies with the marinade and place them on the tawa / pan and cook in a medium or low flame. (or place the veggies in a tikka stick / toothpick like one capsicum dice, one paneer, one onion, one tomato, one paneer etc and keep that on tawa or pan and cook them in a medium or low flame)
> When one side gets browned, gently lift and turn over, the paneer cubes will get cooked faster than other veggies.
> Paneer tikka is ready to serve with pickled vinegar onions or with mint yogurt chutney
