Crispy onion rings


One of the tastiest evening snack is onion rings. It is very easy to prepare and everyone loves the taste. Even kids love to eat this crispy rings. Here is the recipe to prepare crispy onion rings at your kitchen..



Ingredients:


Onion                           - 1 number

Maida/ all
purpose flour                - 1/2 cup

Baking powder             - 1 tablespoon

Kashmiri chilly powder - 1/2 teaspoon

Egg                              - 1

Milk                              - 3/4 cup Or as needed

Salt to taste

Bread crumbs to coat

Oil for frying



Preparation:


> Clean and rinse the onion and cut into approximately 1/4 inch rings

> Separate the rings carefully from each other

> Combine the flour, baking powder, kashmiri chilly powder and salt in a medium bowl

> Coat each onion ring in the flour mixture and set aside

> Combine the remaining flour mixture that you coated the onions with, with the milk, egg and salt and beat well till no lumps remain

> Coat each onion ring in the mixture and shake away the excess

> Coat the rings in breadcrumbs

> Heat oil in a pan, and fry the rings till it become golden brown

> Serve hot with tomato sauce

Paneer / cottage cheese Cutlet


Paneer / Cottage cheese cutlet is a mouthwatering snack.  This is very easy to prepare and everyone loves to eat because of its taste.  Let's prepare yummy paneer cutlet in our kitchen today !!!


Ingredients:


Paneer / Cottage cheese        - 2 cups (crumbled)

Potato                                   - 1 cup (boiled and mashed)

Onion                                   - 2 tablespoon (finely chopped)

Carrot                                  - 1/2 (grated)

Green chilly                        - 1 (finely chopped)

Ginger paste                       - 1/2 teaspoon

Kashmiri red chilly powder - 1/2 teaspoon

Coriander leaves                  -  2 tablespoon (finley chopped)

Dry mango powder/
Aamchur                              - 1/2 teaspoon

Garam masala                      - 1/2 teaspoon

Corn flour                             -  2 tablespoon

salt as required

Bread crumbs                         - 1 cup

oil for shallow frying


For maida paste:

corn flour           - 1/4 cup

pepper               -  1/4 teaspoon (crushed)

maida                - 2 tablespoon

water                - 1/2 cup

salt                   - 1/2 teaspoon



Preparation:


> Prepare maida paste using all the ingredients and keep it aside.

> In a large mixing bowl, take all the ingredients (other than bread crumbs and oil) and mix well and keep it aside.

> Grease the hand with oil and prepare small ball sized patties. 

> Then dip the patties in maida paste well and coat with bread crumbs

> Heat the oil in a pan, and shallow fry the patties on medium flame, till it turns golden brown

> Yummy paneer cutlet is ready to serve with tomato sauce or salads.

Butter Bun / Cream Bun Recipe


Butter bun or cream bun is a yummy snack.  From my childhood, my favorite snack.  But till this time, i used to buy the same from bakery shops.  So, i wished to experiment at my own kitchen and the result was amazing... Then i thought to share the recipe with you too. So that you can also prepare butter bun or cream bun at your own kitchen.  The method of preparation is very simple and very easy to prepare. Here, we are not using Microwave oven, so it's very easy to prepare at everyone's home. Let's Start to prepare yummy yummy cream bun?





Bun Ingredients:


Plain flour / Maida    - 2 cups

Butter (unsalted)        - 25 gm

Yeast                          - 2 teaspoon

Sugar                          - 2 tablespoon

Water to make dough like chappathi / rotti consistency

Salt 



Butter cream ingredients:


Butter                 - 40gms

Icing sugar/
Powdered sugar - 1 cup

Milk                   - 1 and a half tablespoon

Vanilla essence  - 1 teaspoon




Preparation:


> Mix all the ingredients for bun, to form a soft dough.  Cover and keep it aside for an hour. In an hour, the dough will double.

> Divide the dough into equal balls, shape into round and slightly press to flatten. Again cover and keep aside for 15 more minutes

> Heat oil in a deep pan, and fry each balls till it become golden brown (both the sides).  Drain into paper towel and cool completely.

>  By the time, we can make butter cream for filling.  Beat all the ingredients for butter cream together using an electric beater or a hand wisk or a wooden spoon until fluffy.

> After the bun cool down completely, slit each bun and apply butter cream

> Yummy butter bun or cream bun is ready to serve

Ragi Pakoda (Finger millet fritters)


Ragi or Finger millet is one of the most nutritious and healthy cereals.  Include ragi in our daily diet because of it's health benefits.  Mostly ragi introduce to everyone in the form of porridge from our childhood. It's health benefits are amazing.  So, today we are going to prepare an easy and healthy Indian snack with ragi or finger millet. Let's start to prepare tasty ragi pakoda in our home...


Ingredients:


Ragi flour                                            - 1 cup

Rice flour                                            - 2 tbsp

Big onion (Chopped)                          - 2 numbers

Ginger (Finely chopped)                    - 1 tsp

Curry leaves                                       - one sprig

Asafoetida                                          - 1/4 tsp

Salt to taste

Oil for deep frying

Water as needed

Coriander leaves (optional)



Preparation:


>  Take all the ingredients other than oil and water and mix it well in a bowl

> Add required amount of water to prepare a sticky dough

> Heat enough oil in a bowl for deep frying 

> Sprinkle raw ragi mixture in to the oil

> Deep fry till crisp and golden brown on medium hot oil

> Once its ready, remove from oil and drain on absorbent paper and serve hot


It will be perfect to have with some tomato ketchup and tea... :-)
