ONION AND TOMATO RAITA / SALAD

As onion, tomato and curd is readily available ingredients in our kitchen, the raita or salad prepared using these ingredients will not be a hassle… So, as the ingredients mentioned, this is very simple to prepare and use… Even with rice or biriyani or chappathi, we can serve this raita or salad as a side dish…. Easy to prepare and healthy is the tags, which we can add to this recipe…. J
Ingredients:
1.     Big onion -------------------------- 1 medium sized
2.     Tomato ---------------------------- 1 small or medium sized
3.     Green chilli (optional) --------- 1 or 2 (as per spiciness required, if any)
4.     Curd --------------------------------- ½ to 1 cup
5.     Salt ---------------------------------- to taste
Preparation:
1.     Cut the big onion into small square shaped pieces (or chop finely)
2.     Cut the tomatoes into small square shaped pieces (or finely chop)
3.     Cut the green chilli into small pieces
4.     Mix all these three ingredients finely (if you do mix it with hand will be perfect)
5.     Add a little salt and mix it again and keep it aside for 5 – 10 minutes
6.     Add curd into the mix and mix well, adjust the salt accordingly
7.     Onion and tomato raita or salad is ready to serve

ONION RAITA

Onion raita or onion salad or salad is very simple to prepare and tasty too… This side dish is used with pulao or biriyani or chappathi…. Here I am introducing the basic and easy preparation of onion raita
Ingredients:
1.     Onion ------------------------------------- 1 big sized
2.     Curd --------------------------------------- 1 cup
3.     Salt ----------------------------------------- to taste
4.     Coriander leaves ----------------------- for seasoning
Preparation:
1.     Cut the onion lengthwise or in small square shape
2.     Put salt into the chopped onion and mix well with fingers and keep it aside for 5-10 minutes
3.     Add curd to the onion mix and mix well
4.     Season the onion raita with coriander leaves
5.     Onion raita is ready to serve
We can prepare many varieties of raita at home… This is the simplest and easiest version of raita  We can serve this raita with biriyani or fried rice or pulao or chappathi….
